Fodor is a U.S. travel website which ranked Vietnam as one of the world’s 25 best countries to visit this year because of its interesting history and culture and at the same time ability to keep up with the fast-changing times.
The site was especially attracted to the country because of its spectacular sights and sites like elaborate temples, gigantic colonial structures, and natural beauty, just to name a few. The food is also world class, making it a tourist destination all on its own.
Ha Noi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City are among the top visited places in the country with their natural attractions like river cruise along Ha Long Bay and the rice paddies at Mekong Delta.
Yet despite of its rich past, Vietnam has been able to keep up with the modern times. Elegant restaurants and hotels can be seen almost anywhere in the country, creating a harmonious and even complementary relationship with the old buildings.
In the Go List 2015, Vietnam places 20th after excelling in the specific criteria of “emerging hot spots; valued destinations; locations that will host special events in 2015; and suitable for every type of traveller.”
Vietnam has always been known for its abundant history and culture. Moreover, its overall prices are fairly low, even cheap, making it an easy choice for tourists. Perhaps best of all, Vietnamese people are very warm and hospitable, making visitors feel welcome and even want to come back.
