With a goal to make tourism its primary economic sector, the central province of Quang Binh created a promotional programme entitled “Quang Binh in the Land of Hanoi” to entice both local and foreign tourists to visit and discover the beauty of the place.
The programme includes securing a platform for all travel operators in Hanoi and Quang Binh to make them interconnected and unified in their aim to promote the area and attract visitors; and encourage investment in the tourism sector.
The products of Quang Binh (agricultural, commercial, etc.) are seen as one of the potential strengths of the province because of their world-class quality. Additional flights connecting Quang Binh to Chiang Mai, Thailand; and Dong Hoi City to Cat Bi (Northern port city of Hai Phong) are also targeted. Policies on investment attraction and “tourism demand stimulation” are strengthened. The traditions, history, sacred land, local heroes, famous people and the overall culture of Quang Binh should be given more focus. Images of Quang Binh should be advertised globally in order for its beauty to be known to the rest of the world.
A series of events have already been lined up from March 25-27, 2017 as part of this programme as well. A music show, photo exhibition, “cultural space,” marketing strategies, seminar and more musical extravaganza are among the activities planned between this period. The music show entitled “Quang Binh in Songs” will be conducted at the Hanoi Opera House on March 26 and 27 from 8:00-10:30 in the evening. The photo exhibition will highlight Quang Binh as the “most attractive destination in Asia.” The popular folk song “Heave ho” by Le Thuy will be featured in the cultural space while the world-famous caves of Quang Binh will be the star in the marketing programme, specifically Son Doong Cave, the biggest cave in the world.
The Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is definitely a pride of the province because of its amazing “geological, geo-morphological, biodiversity and aesthetic values.” It pioneered in obtaining three of the four requirements for a World Natural Heritage, that is why it was acknowledged as such by UNESCO not only once but twice.
Quang Binh is also known for its longest coastline and crystal clear, untouched beaches, something which lures an especially large number of international tourists and nature-loving people in general especially in the summer. The province is also home to the famous late General Vo Nguyen Giap and labour heroine Mother Suot, making Quang Binh an overall significant destination which should be discovered by those who value history, culture and nature.
