Hue to Set Up Audio Guides and Free Wi-Fi for Tourists

To better serve its visitors, Hue City is planning to establish an audio guide system, free Wi-Fi and e-tickets at its major tourist destinations.

The audio guide system will be in five languages and to be installed at the royal citadel and important tomb sites. English will definitely be one of the languages included in the system, but the other four still have to be decided by the Center for Preservation of Hue Former Citadel Relics. It is not free though. Along with the e-tickets, tourists have to pay a certain amount to be able to access the service.

Hue City was the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 until the end of feudal Vietnam in 1945. It is the imperial city of Thua Thien Province and famous for its elegant pagodas and natural beauty.

During the National Day weekend last year, about 58,000 visitors arrived in Hue. From January to August of 2016, international visitors to the city upped by 36.5% or almost 1.8 million compared to 2015.

With the constant rise of visitors to Hue, it’s only imperative that the city continuously improve its tourist-related services and products.
