Four Cruise Ships Arrive in Danang in 2018

During the recent Christmas holidays, four international cruise ships arrived at the Tien Sa Port in Danang City.

The ship Volendem docked on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017 and carried 1,000 passengers. Azamara Journey arrived on December 27, 2017 bringing 400 tourists. Costa Fortuna anchored the day after, December 28, with 3,000 travellers on board, while MSC Lirica parked on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2018 with 2,000 passengers aboard.

In line with this, additional international flights were also put into effect: Incheon – Danang route via Vietjet Air and Eastar Jet; Hongkong – Danang destination through the Jetstar; Busan – Danang route by T’way Air; Deagu – Danang via T’way Air and Air Busan; and Osaka – Danang destination through Jetstar airline.

The Department of Tourism of Danang made the announcement on the increase of tourist arrivals in the city during the holiday season.  The foreign cruise ships alone brought in more than 6,000 passengers during this time, not to mention the additional number of flyers who decided to spend their Christmas and New Year in Danang City.

With the surge of visitors which arrived in Danang during the Christmas holidays, the city’s tourism sector was given an extra boost, a huge benefit to its economy.
