This year’s Hue Festival will be participated in by over 60 art troupes from 47 countries all over the world, as well as 53 local performers. It will be held from April 29 – May 4, 2016 at the central province of Thua Thien – Hue.
This year’s Hue Festival celebrates the 710 years since Thuan Hua – Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien – Hue) was founded as well as the establishment of Hue City 380 years ago. It is a modern celebration held every two years which was based on festivals from popular cities all over the world.
This year’s festivity includes historical and cultural events with performances from Vietnam and other countries. Some of the performances include the “Dem Hoang Cung” (Royal Night) and “Huyen Thoai Phuong Dong” (Orient Legendary) which will be held at the Ngo Mon – Ky Dai Square. The artists will also be performing in several other places like the Hue Citadel, An Dinh Palace and other places in the Complex of Hue Monuments.
Other activities lined up for the festival are exhibitions; kite and calligraphy displays; scientific workshops; street music; art performances; sports; and other tourism promotion events. Food will also be abundant during the celebration for all guests to enjoy.
