In order for tourism authorities to have a reference for their research and overall design plans for development, the European Union-funded Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme (EU-ESRT) recently launched a technical report and a map of its tourism products in the Central Coast of Vietnam.
The map was specifically created for the three regional provinces of Thua-Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Da Nang. The technical report was made to enhance the “destination management and marketing efforts” of the tourism products in the said provinces at regional level. It works by first examining the current situation and then recognizing those particular products which need to be prioritized.
Three tactics were used in order to identify priority tourism products: connecting major cultural heritage products by strengthening the Heritage Road touring route; connecting key coastal products into an intra-provincial coastal beach tourism hub; connecting main nature and community-based tourism products by creating a Nature Trail touring route circuit.
According to ES-ESRT, the Central Coast of Vietnam can boost its tourism sector by honing its natural areas like its beaches, coastal and inland waters. Lang Co, My Khe, Pham Van Dong, Cua Dai, An Bang, Cham Island and the Han River in Da Nang are just some of its naturally beautiful sites that need to be developed and managed properly in order to attract more visitors.
The eight provinces in the North West area and the three Mekong Delta localities are the next target places of the EU-ESRT programme in creating more technical reports and tourism products maps.
