In an effort to improve its tourism sector, Hue City is planning to install an audio guide system, e-tickets and free Wi-Fi at its major attractions.
The audio guide system will be in five languages, including English of course, but the other four are still to be decided upon as well as its launching date. It will be set up at the royal citadel and important tomb sites. The system will be established in partnership with private investment which means it won’t be free, that visitors have to pay a certain amount to be able to access it. The same goes for the e-tickets.
Hue City became a popular tourist destination because of its historical richness. The powerful Nguyen Dynasty reigned here from 1802 until the end of the feudal system in Vietnam in 1945. Thua Thien-Hue Province in the imperial city is abundant in majestic pagodas and spectacular natural scenery.
Hue City continues to receive an increasing number of tourists through time, both domestic and international. This is why it is imperative that the local government persists in planning and implementing innovative ways to strengthen its tourism.
